4 Orphanages in Tijuana Now Have Access to Healthcare
By partnering with Beam Healthcare and Fundación Esperanza Contigo, A.C., BeamUp was able to start implementing telemedicine at four orphanages in Tijuana, Baja California — providing greater access to quality healthcare for more than 200 children.
Beam Healthcare is a telemedicine clinical group providing specialist services to clinics, hospitals, and healthcare systems. Passionate about achieving healthcare equality through the use of telemedicine, they have been instrumental in making this partnership possible.
Esperanza Contigo is a nonprofit organization that serves over 200 children in four orphanages across Tijuana. Their dedication to the well-being of these children made them the perfect partner for this initiative.
Through the partnership, we deployed TytoCare's TytoClinic system, which can turn any location into a remote telehealth clinic. This allows local providers to conduct medical examinations and connect with remote specialists for guidance and diagnosis.
The key to sustainability is empowering local providers. Rather than creating dependency on external healthcare teams, we trained local staff to use the telemedicine platform, ensuring that care can continue long after the initial setup.
We are here to listen and guide — not to write prescriptions. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Our focus on preventative healthcare means we are addressing health issues before they become critical, reducing the burden on both the children and the local healthcare system.
This project is just the beginning. We plan to expand telemedicine access to additional communities across Latin America, leveraging the model we've built in Tijuana as a blueprint for future deployments.
